FAQ

Quick answers about service, scheduling and support.

An overhaul focuses on restoring the existing system to proper working condition by renewing its components. Modernization, on the other hand, upgrades the system to improve safety, energy efficiency, control precision, and ease of service—for example, with more accurate valve control, more stable pressure management, and a safer power unit. If the system is experiencing frequent failures, spare parts are hard to source, or performance expectations have increased, modernization is often the better long-term investment. A short inspection and measurement process is usually enough to determine the right choice.

In many cases, the visible leak is only the “result,” not the root cause. Replacing the hose may be necessary, but the real issue may come from pressure fluctuations within the line, incorrect fitting selection, vibration, improper routing, or worn seals. The right solution is to inspect not only the leak point, but also the line design, connection standards, and pressure settings. This greatly reduces the risk of the same failure happening again.

In boat and marine hydraulic systems, the maintenance interval depends on usage intensity, operating temperature, and environmental conditions. The general approach is to rely on regular oil analysis, filter inspection, and monitoring of sealing components. Periodic maintenance reduces the risk of unexpected failures, prevents performance loss in critical equipment such as steering systems, winches, hatches, and stabilizers, and lowers long-term costs.

A loss of hydraulic power is most often caused by low or poor-quality oil, clogged filters, pump inefficiency, air in the system (cavitation), or leaks in hoses and connections. During our on-site inspection, we measure pressure and flow values to identify the exact source of the problem. If needed, we restore the system to near-original performance through pump, valve, and cylinder overhaul, as well as line replacement.
